Mediafire Problems

Are others having problems with Mediafire, or is it just me and some of my friends? In the last month with a Pro account I've encountered the following (but not all at the same time):

1 - Impossible to log in (but now works);
2 - Impossible to upload;
3 - Uploaded, but when I try to dowload the very same file, gobbobledegook on the screen;
4 - Today, can log in but nothing can be downloaded (the site reads the file is experiencing an "outage", but this applies to all files whether mine or those of others);
5 - Have emailed the site 2 weeks ago but they only reply they "will deal with the issues and get back to me".

Would like to hear from others, and if this is widespread would suggest GH withdraws their approval of the site.

Hi Mamah,

We generally find that mediafire provides a very good service, however all hosting services encounter problems and glitches from time to time --hopefully any issues are temporary.

We will keep an eye on things for now and see what happens.

Problems with MF

When I tried to check my MF links this morning I could not access MF . However, I have just tried and I was able to access the site and download.

I cannot understand :thinking: what happens but there are times when I cannot access MF with Firefox, IE and Chrome for a week or more. However, when I try to access through my ISP web page MF will load but will not always allow me to upload or download. The situation confuses and irritates me. ~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(

Yes they are having problems. I wrote to them the other day and got back a load of standard sentences. I managed to upload to 2 different hosts quite succesfully (nothing to do with porn so that's not the problem ) and explained this to them, and the fact that it worked fine up to a week or so ago.

This time they seemed to listen and are looking into it. They tried to suggest it was my ISP blocking them!

I think their recent upgrade hasn't worked out too well. I've tried 3 browsers and my ISP's browser and only yesterday was I able to upload anything again.

Glad to see it's not just me! Hopefully it'll be fixed before long.

Yes, Xman 101, I agree. Till a month ago the service has been excellent. All these problems started when they tried to "upgrade" the site about a month ago. Like many upgrades these days I assume it wasn't tested properly beforehand. Today it seems to work OK again, but we shall see. If a filesharing site wants to maintain their success they have to make it compatible with all the main browsers, and not put the blame on the user for using the "wrong" browser.

God I wish they'd make like an RS Manager for uploading. Or at least an ftp server. Uploading to Mediafire is a pain in the butt :butslap:

What about if you use an aggregator site like MirrorCreator.com? You could upload to MF and up to fourteen other hosts for no charge.

Well I had premium with Mediafire so I could transfer large bulks of my backup files there about 1gb+ files. Thankfully they granted my request for a refund.

It's all working fine again now. I'll bet there were a lot of rather upset people!
