Every day at eight o'clock in the evening I watch the news on Nederland 1 (its the official -non commercial TV station from The Netherlands). At 8.30, so absolutely at prime time. there was a show from the most popular (and best paid) Dutch show master Paul de Leeuw. He never made a secret of his homosexuality; tells about his marriage with a man and how things go with their adopted kids.
His show is a bit of everything. Serious things (Neelie Smit Kroes, one of the top commissioners in European Union was a guest), cabaret and music.
Tonight was one of his guests Michael Holbrook Penniman, artist name MIKA. He admitted that he was gay too. Their whole conversation was really adorable. I am a bit old to keep up with all modern stars, so I had to google to find out that MIKA is a big star.
They sang a song from Paul de Leeuw together. A love song in which they declare that they love each other. They even kissed each other on the mouth. I found on youtube in fact immediately after the show this little video . It is only a part of all what happened. Watch this video and enjoy how accepted homosexuality is in The Netherlands.
I also discovered a little video of both from 2009. I did not see that show. I think it is also nice. Enjoy also the ability of Paul to speak English. As bad as mine.
