After this turbulent 2015 I hope for a better 2016 but I guess that will take a while. But I am confident.

Why that is tell you my four christmas Angels - the angels of Ratio, Consequence, Direction and Hope.

I hope you like them.

May be what connects us in the focus of 2016 - not what divides us.

Is it true that all angels are men? I've heard that from more than one person. One of them was a woman I've known for 30+ years. She is a religious person who also loves Gay men.

She had a near death experience. She believes she met Archangel Michael during her out of body experience that she had on the operating table.

I don't associate myself with any organized religion but I know there is more to life than that which we can sense with our 5 senses or know for certain with our limited scientific knowledge.

Those are beautiful angels, ihno, and I appreciate your post very much.

The coming year will be like most others with a lot of good things happening which are overshadowed by some tragic things.

Let's remember to love each other when times are hard.

The question "are angels men" leads to the question do they have genitals?
In Genesis, Lot spends the night in Sodom with some angels. The bad men of the town demand sex with the angels. Remember the sex that made Sodom notorious was rape. The angels did not need cocks of their own because they do not breed, neither do they need them to get raped. God hates the men of Sodom because they are rapists, not because they have sex with men.
Enough of that, Chrismas is no time to be talking about religion.
I hope your four good angels can attract sponsorship, they will need it to compete with the four demons of hate, fear, greed, and exploitation who are already well funded by the corporate world.

Is it true that all angels are men? I've heard that from more than one person.

The idea of supernatural beings with wings (normally connected to some god) is not limited to christianity or judaism. The autors of the bible(s) just gave them a little retcon (as one would say today). I guess the bible(s) might be a little paternalistic but it is not a necessary reference for me.

The idea is as old as the civilization itself, while our idea is mostly determined by the art of the Renaissance. Angels had a gender in the art of the middle-ages also. And those were fully intanct while most often endowed economically.

There are many female angels in cultural history and art, the Quadriga on the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin has a female angel, which is supposed to be Nike, the godess of Victory. Same goes for the Wellington Arch in London.
