Hey Hammer... To be on the safe side I suggest you do a FULL antivirus scan and a FULL malware scan ... just incase you have picked up something nasty that is still lurking.

For a FREE antivirus I recommend Avast ... and for FREE anti spy/malware I recommend SpywareTerminator... stick the names in google to get the download links

Avast runs in the background giving you "live" protection and will block sites and give you a warning if it detects problems, and it automatically updates itself and tells you it has done it.. but you can also get it to run scans on your computer if you want to... with SpywareTerminator you have to update it and run the scans yourself.

One of the laptops I used died a little over a year... seems they don't last that long.

Avast is very good, but it has issues with Firefox.
Also AVG is good anti-virus.
Spybot is good for malware and stuff and so it ad-aware.
All free.
I picked up some damn go.google.com virus from some jackass here!
I worked for over a month to get rid of it, nothing ever caught it coming in or could get rid of it. Except. Window own "Windows Live one care safety scanner. I must have used 15 or more programs to get rid of the thing, and I would never have thought Microsoft would come to the rescue but they did.
Now I have two many protection services running, nothing will get in cause the systems to slow.:p
(Well not really but you know what I mean.)

AVG works great its free and can be set to self scan. If you want better protection AVG has an Internet Security Suite thats reasonably priced. Spybot is a good addition, and protects silently from adware but requires the user to start scans.
