My X-mas card

December is the time that we usually have some deeper thoughts. About the meaning of life, peace and understanding, or things like that. And of course Christmas cards. This is my X-mas (no XXX-Mas) card for all my friends on The Heaven.
I made it as a little audiovisual poem.

Excuses for minor technical imperfections. My old computer has problems with heavy calculations.

Hi Meneer de Hertog (the Dutch translation for MrDuke).
Two years ago I bought software from a German company: Magix Video deluxe 2008 Plus. You can make your own videos with it. In a way it is like movie maker from windows, but far more complex and it offers enormous possibilities. It is great fun to work with. I gather photos and videos on the net. Search for appropriate music (normally from LimeWire, but since they disappeared I use FrostWire). Invent a plot and the rest is creativity. There are some minor handicaps. First: my computer is seven years old, slow and has no large calculation capacity. The files you create are rather big. Half an hour video gives a file of about 1 Gigabyte (in Mpeg 640x480). And even more when you use the Magix Music Editor instrument, to work over audio files (normally you do that in the Wave format, which create also big files). But afterwards I convert the Mpeg file into WMV V9 (with Any Video Converter), nearly the same quality but very small files. For example this Christmas card was in Mpeg 165 MB and converted to WMV V9 only 28,8 MB (both files 640x480). And second: I am a bit of the after-computer generation. So my skill in digital stuff is not so good. But trial and error does the job.
