Has anyone seen the preview to the new DC Justice League movie? Looks pretty good. I'm not a fan of the outfit that WW has on and people seem to be upset by the fact that Aquaman is not in the movie but Shazam is. Sound is also too loud, cant clearly hear what the characters are saying. I think this is the first animated movie that comes from the new 52. What do you all think?

hi Havocs,

Have you followed the new 52?

I stopped reading comics about 10 years ago. Every now and then I stop in a Comics shop to see what's on the shelf and nothing grabs me. I don't care for the 'new' era of comics. I falling out with Marvel began when Marvel 'surrendered' and left their flagship titles to the talent of the opposition. The Image-ization of Marvel was a slippery slope to nowhere in my eyes.

Then DC surrendered as well. When Paul Levitz was let go it was the writing on the wall. All 'tradition' of DC being something separate from Marvel and the Image-ization of Marvel was a lost cause.

This is hard for me, as I grew up loving comics so much I fought tooth and nail to get into the industry. I worked for Marvel and DC. Badly, but circumstances in life weren't in my favor to have a good run. Anyway, despite the fact I haven't purchased product in years I still love comics.

I have noticed that the films, both live action and animated seem to do a better job of presenting the DC/Marvel Universes than the comics. So I'd be much more interested in picking this up than I would buying a print book. (Or digital. .........-"Shudder...!") -For instance, Batman the comic could only dream of being as good as the Animated Batman.

So back to my original question again... are the plot lines/ characterizations here in line with the Nu52???

No, I actually haven't followed the New 52, but I saw the movie and it was pretty good. I don't keep up with comics as I used to, I've been meaning to but some of the graphic books to get back into things but havent gotten around it. I was more of a Marvel fan more so than DC but am a fan of any superhero movie. This new envisioning of the universe is just a way to break away from the way of the characters and gives a chance for newer readers to connect and learn about the characters in modern times. I guess it was only a matter of time before that happened. In some ways I am glad it happens, it gives a chance for the characters to be seen in a new light but on the other hand its just a way for them to retell the same story with a 'twist' on it for the same money.

what do you mean you ordered it? download it :p

I always think that blu-ray discs are that much better that say a 1080p rip, so it's worth forking out. I wouldn't pay the full whack for a new-release movie, but you can pick up discs second-hand very cheaply -maybe 3 or 4 bucks each.:)

When I was a kid I never cared for Superman comics till I got a concussion with 15 or so and had to lay in bed for three weeks. A neighbour gave me a Superman collection and I became a fan for a while, though I never could take some "heroes" like "Elastoman" really seriously.

Today I still think it's great that I didn't leave out that kind of "pop culture". I esp. liked the Justice League.

As for the painting I think they overdo it a little bit with the muscles. One movie had Martha Kent in it. She was supposed to look like an old woman but looked like a short bodybuilder in drag.

I have also watched "War" but must admit that I already forgot about the plot. :D

Not a big fan of Wonder Woman's new outfit in this either, but I always love watching her take charge and kick ass.
