I have just tried to upload pictures to P&H but I keep getting 'Upload error 500'.

I am wondering if anyone else has the same problem.

At the moment I am using UploadHouse and am experiencing no problems.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Urtica

Edit: :duh::duh: I should have checked the P&H Forum :duh::duh:. It does appear that others are having the same problem.

Edit: At 13.54 hrs [UK time] on 5 April 2011 I uploaded to P&H without any problem.

Does anybody know when P&H will get back to normal; recently uploaded pictures are seen - all older uploads/pics disappeared.

P&H - cannot see the images

I have been to the P&H Forum and have found several recent posts from users concerning the inability to see images that they have uploaded.

I have examined my posts in the GH Forum and have found that I cannot see any of those I tested.

I have been to the P&H site and although I had no problem accessing the site I could not see any of the pictures being uploaded.

I am concerned that no one else here has mentioned anything about not being able to see images in threads. Furthermore, I have noticed that I have been 'Thanked' for posts during the time that I have been unable to see any pictures.

Am I the only one having this recent problem?

I have seen this from time to time. Yesterday was impossible. Just now it seems OK.

Still completely dead for me. The error notification message is still up on the P&H web main page. Even the latest pic uploads on the P&H main page are all pageholders.

It may well alive for some people and dead for other. Pimp&Host have moved servers, so they have new IP address. And the DNS system takes about 24 hours to update around the world. All depends on how quick your ISP is at updating their own records with the new information.

My ISP they are still dead, but another one I have just used (BTOpenzone) works fine.

This IP have been deleted by Admin.

We should NOT ask regular member and guest to ad this IP due security reason. If you add stuff to you own host file its up to you but DO NOT add this thing in here. IF a member do this and having a crash who do you think has the responsibility.

You are welcome to help other people but this have to be on a basic ground that not can harm anything. // NightLitch

Good luck

Try to empty the cache in your browser.

I have had PM's from several members who were annoyed that I wrote that the problems were solved while they still had the same problem. After I had adviced them to empty the cache the problem was solved.

Your IPS may be working but others may not. For people who is it not working for, even after clearing your CACHE in your browser, and also trying "ipconfig/flushdns" at the command prompt, you will just have to wait until your IPS updates its NS servers with the correct IP address for various domain names for Pimp&Host which is "filesor.com"

If you are feeling brave you could do what I mentioned above and add the entries into your HOSTS file, but if you are a novice I would recommend that you DONT play with that file

The NAME SERVERS can take up to 24 hours to populate around the world, so unfortunately you will just have to be patient.

I find that the best way to get around poor DNS servers from ISPs is to use either OpenDNS or google's free DNS service. I love Google's service because the IPs of their servers are easy to remember:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Oh - and sadly DNS propagation can take more than 24 hours, 72 hours is not uncommon :(

I'd just like to add my extreme disappointment at the moderation of a helpful post by an admin.

IPs are public information, zero security risk here. Throwing the word around does not make it so.

Also, there is no liability to this board or it's admins if any user follows advice here and it goes wrong. The advice here is given for free, so no one has a case against anyone over it. We are not professionals selling advice, so we do not have liability!

Ah, this explains how P&H images are still dead on my laptop but alive on my cell phone.

I would say that I fully support the decision from the Co-Admin to edit out the text in the post above, because we have had major problems before by members have followed the advanced tips here in the help section which has gone wrong and they have bombarded us with emails and PM's and accused us that we allowed it.

It's okay that technically advanced members experimenting with that kind of manipulating of register settings and editing of system files, but we know well that most members can start the computer, open the browser and navigate here but there ends their knowledge.

You have to accept that the admins and moderators remove or edit posts that we know has caused major problems for members in the past and don't want it to happen again. Unfortunately, it is often those who should not do anything at all that in reality does, usually with a system crasch or other major problems as a result.

This help section is designed for simple tips and tricks, but for advanced technical stuff are there other forums where more advanced users discuss their stuff.
