No Ronnies :(

I don't think they ever made it big in America, but the British comdey duo of Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett were simply amazing. Good clean family fun, and absolutely hillarious.

They did a show together called "the two Ronnies" - it was one of those shows we all watched as a family, and each of us enjoyed it as much as the other - from the youngest of the kids, to the oldest of the adults.

The sketch I will never forget is their "four cadles" sketch:


Ronnie Barker died quite some time ago now, but Ronnie Corbet continued to appear on TV from time-to-time for many more years, and he was as funny as ever. He did a show with guest commedians called "The One Ronnie", of which this is my favourite sketch:


Saddly, Ronnie Corbet passed away today, so there are no Ronnies left now

Thanks for this post GB - one of my favorite american comedians is Ron Bennington of the former radio comedy duo of Ron and Fez. They were on New York radio in the early 2000's and later XM Satellite radio. Ron was the straight cool guy - his pal Fez was a late-blooming gay guy from florida who was f*cking hilarious. Ron, despite his macho airs, always had a soft spot for his best friend Fez and they were best "buddies" on the radio and made me laugh for the better part of a decade. Fez kind of broke apart due to a lot of mental issues but Ronnie was always by his side right to the end. They were together for better than 20 years - there is something to be said for comedy teams that last that long.
