That's quite sad & poignent and well stated.
There are a lot of lonely people in the world. I've always been happy on my own and have a lot of friends and good times. I never look anymore for a partner, casual encounters are actually more depressing than not bothering.
Love and affection can find you when you least expect it though, as I've found. Never give up, but don't try looking too hard. I enjoy my hobbies and get great pleasure out of them, they have also provided me with more friends and an interest in life that stops me worrying about being alone in that way.
I do hope you find happiness, but like I said, forget casual encounters and stop looking!! Keep your eyes open, but concentrate on what you enjoy. You may be surprised that by just being yourself love may find you
