Anyone else think it's easier to notice other people's mistakes than it is your own ?

Brolly depends on person. I notice others mistakes and also my own:p The most important thing is how you react. Don't taunt others or yourself for mistakes, but learn from them:)

This is probably the same reason why in the world wide web, the most effective way of eliciting the most reaction in forums is by committing a mistake.

There is nothing more dangerous than a person with something to prove....

I make mistakes every day of my life ....I would be lying if I said I didn't.......All day every day.......I realize that and that's part of being human .....Seems like some people will never fess up to their mistakes under any circumstances though.........Some will even resort to covering up their mistakes or resort to underhanded practices to conceal them..

I think that is definitely human nature. We judge ourselves by our intentions, and judge others by their actions.

Put another way, we often assume the worst when interpreting the actions of other people, but assign the best possible motivation to ourselves. For example, if you lie to me, I interpret that as you being a lying, calculating, bastard - but if I lie to you it's because I am trying to spare your feelings.

Or it could be that we usually do not see ourselves as other see us.

I notice the mistakes in others, but then try to look back to see if I make the same mistake. Yea, it is easier to see in others than it is yourself. That is why I like constructive criticism. I don't mind at all someone telling me that I made a mistake, it's the presentation that ususally pisses me off because instead of politely tell me, the person comes AT me. If you know what I mean.

It will always be very easy to see the mistakes others will do than to see the mistakes I will do myself.

@RazzmaTazz
And you are totally right - constructive criticism submitted in a polite matter always will be accepted. And I hate it as well what you call "the person will come AT you" - that would be a situation I won't accept to be wrong. But on the other hand it isn't very easy to see the own mistakes, because I think if you will see them, why you will do them?!
