Once great studios that now suck

Discussion in the Scotty Marx thread got me thinking about this.

I've always been a fan of RB's product and a couple of years ago they really hit a fantastic patch with an amazingly hot line-up. But now, I feel that over the last year or so they've become a lot like SC or CF with completely generic and interchangable models that don't really stand out in any way.

Something similar has happened to M3N. They used to have a really big and varied collection of guys that almost always delivered. Now they're down to a same old tired crew and their new models are not as hot.

On the other hand, MAP still seems to be going strong with their models, although the business suit theme has hot somewhat stale.

wh sucks too. They have lost everything that made them special over the last years. I don't even check their website any more.

Most of their "photos" are screenshots nowerdays and those photos that are still photos are a little off from a professional perspective. Whenever I see their new casting photos I think "wow, all brown and beige and beige and brown now!"

You may think that SC is "tired", but it is the listed as the second highest listed studio on Str8 Up Gay Porn website. To me, their guys are hot and look like they enjoy themselves while they are performing. BA-O was first. Personally, I like SC, especially their recent 8-day getaway scene. I happen to think that they get a lot of hot guys. For me, BA-O and almost all European studios (except British ones) suck. While they may get many, really hot guys, they all have scenes where the performers all have this standard moan, that annoys the shit out of me. They show no emotion and even fake things like rimming and they fake it badly. Don't do it, if you can't do it right. BA-O is a little better than the others, but I still find them boring. They do have some really cute guys, though, even if they are somewhat twinkish, for my taste.:yawn:

Although I was not what you call a HUGE fan of the Fratpad franchise but years ago...the guys were really nice looking and engaging so to speak. However, over the past couple of years...for me...things have changed a lot and not for the better. In fact, during the years of Ricky, Diego, Jaden, Ty, PJ, etc. there were a lot of exposure in the porn media in regard to what was happening at the Fratpad and now .... you rarely hear of anything.

I agree that a handful of studios just offer the same line-up of "models" and the sex looks rather boring or generic. Sometimes there can be too much of a good thing, and while everyone has different tastes, some models are over-hyped or don't deserve so many scenes.

No one wants to see the same thing over and over again, and I don't care if you are doing porn just for money, at least try to act like you are into it. Seeing 2 people with no enthusiasm what-so-ever is part of what makes the sex look uneventful and less of a turn-on.

Maybe some aren't that attracted to their partners or don't want to appear "too gay," but whatever. Just fake it. You're already doing gay porn. Assumptions and judgements will be made regardless. At least I don't see why tops don't always put more effort into what they're doing. lol

The same old themes are also being used and in some cases, there really is not much of one due to lack of dialogue. There are plenty of different scenarios that don't get used very often or at all and would be interesting to see.

Overall, it just seems like some studios aren't giving their all anymore.

Actually...a couple of the models did leave Fratpad to start GayHoopla...However...Fratpad is still around with a whole new bunch of models. I'm aware of this because of promotions that were posted on Twitter.
