Hi Folks,

I would like to start a thread about PC games and which people think are the really cool ones.

Personally I don't really know that much about the various titles. Right now I have The Sims 3 (4/5) and Neverwinter Nights 2 (5/5). I might try a shoot-em-up type game -any ideas? There are too many titles to choose from...

I highly recommend Assassins Creed, its not a shoot em up game, more adventure. Basically you are in Jerusalem in the crusades and you are an assassin, and you can kill anyone you choose in the city. you have so much freedom like going out of the city(to other cities), climbing buildings, riding horses, running from guards.. its reallly fun

Well, if you *liked* Neverwinter Nights 2, I'd say giving The Sith Lords a try would be worth it, and Knights of the Old Republic (if you can stand Star Wars, that is). Also, if you can get a hold of it, Planescape: Torment is absolutely fantastic. Er... but shoot-em-ups... well, Half-Life 2 is pretty fun, though I think the original is better (if somewhat dated). And to top this off, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 are games I'll always suggest people try.

It depends on taste, I guess... pretty much like everything else. I was addicted from the get go, not that I had a bloody clue how anything actually worked at the start.

I recommend Fallout 3, a truly complex game, adventure and action!
Just finished the new Wolfenstein game, quite entertaining!

Doom 3 is the best if you like action & horror combined.

Playing Batman: Arkham Asylum right now.

It's excellent -the graphics are flawless, and the game is really immersive. The whole think takes place in the asylum, made up of various buildings, but it's a maze. Read some of the more in depth reviews.

Anyone else playing/thinking about playing this?

lol I did make a whole thread about it! ;) :p yeah it was kinda annoying with that don't you think? lol

1)fallout 3 - bloody awesome, this game has a little bit of everything (make sure you get the dlc packs)
2)Doom 3 - what else can you say, it''s doom
3)Bioshock 1 or 2 - probably the prettiest game around
4)any of the stalker franchise - good stories, great graphics

Baldurs' Gate Series - great games to replay million times over and over
Hitman - revolutionary game, although they screwed the story in later sequels
Fallout Series - another revolutionary game
and of course GTA

If you like RPG have you given the elder scrolls series a go. They are single character but much deeper then neverwinter nights. Dragon age origins is also very good.

I totally agree with that. Morrowind from the Elderscroll series is on of the best RPG I know as is Dragon Age Origins. If you like it a little less serious, you should try The Bard's Tale (the one by Ubisoft from 2005, not the original one, which I don't know personally).

Excellent classics are the whole Baldur's Gate series, Planescape Torment (fascinating story!) and The Knights of the Old Republic.

I also liked The Witcher, which is a bit gloomy but has a good storyline. The Gothic Trilogy is a bit more straightforward IMO, but good all the same.

For a casual game... I got HOOKED on:
Plants Vs Zombies...
Before everyone starts ragging on it, give it a try, it's actually really deep and VERY well designed.
Part 2 is coming in August!!!!!!!!!

Assassins Creed is the best game ever...

Agreed although the 2 got better with Ezio and the other Assassin's and of course usual from Ubisoft they left a story hanger which actually really bothers me cause I want to figure out what's gonna happen in the 3rd one lol
Other than that AC2 was the best game I ever played on my PC that's for sure. 5/5 in every way I think it was perfect, Although I have to mention that the controlling with a keyboard can be hard sometimes, but manageable.
The story basically plays in the 15th century Italy in Fiorenze, Tuscany, Venice, and lastly Rome. They made a new feature to the game, which are the "hidden codes" on the wall that subject 16 made for you. There are 30 pieces to collect and decode of course and then you'll receive a really interesting video.
The story line is really good a bit samplish but what isn't nowadays. I recommend watching Assassin's Creed Lineage the movie before playing the 2 because then you'll understand some parts which wasn't really understandable in the game.
I'm not going to spoiler the game and the story because it worths playing it :)

Although it seems that in November Assassin's Creed 2.5 will be out Which is called Brotherhood. Now everybody is mistaken by thinking it is the 3rd game, but no. The game itself just only takes back to you to Rome fighting with a new family, and if someone has played the 2 they know that the 3 isn't going to be about fighting more likely searching ;)
if you have any questions I'll answer delightfully just PM me :)
