The only qualification that most know how to use for videos, movies or photos is "amazing."
So be creative, buy a dictionary, make an effort, but

"Cool" is probably in line for Word of the (20th) Century. This slang expression has had an amazing career. It first came on the scene, I believe, in the 1950's among the Beatnik population. "Cool, man, cool" was the catch-phrase.
"Cool cats" used to hang out in smoky late night jazz clubs and the like. James Dean and Jack Kerouac were the epitome of cool.
Falling out of favour in the 1960s and 1970s, to be replaced by words like "groovy", "in" and "neat", the word made an unexpected comeback in the 1980s, and has been with us ever since, keeping more or less the same meaning as it had in the 1950s.

Paradoxically, it's possible for someone to be cool and hot at the same time.

Agreed.
It's very easy to slip into lazy habits with language and use a word that doesn't really say what you mean, simply because everyone else is using it. I'm sure I'm guilty of it myself on occasion.

The trouble with using a word like "awesome" for trivial things like some pop star's latest video is that when something truly IS awesome, such as your first orgasm, or your first sight of Iguacu Falls, the word no longer has the same impact.
