problems opening files with part1 and avi

I am having problems opening file that have part1.html or .avi001 and these with the .rar.
I have windows media player, play it all, and use quick zip to open the .rar
files.
When I try to open the .rar it freezes up the computer and won't let me
open the file.
and the files that has part1.html and .avi001 and the higher numbers
won't play.
Is there a solution to these problems.
Can anyone help?

You need to download all the split files (.001, .002, etc) into the same folder then use HJ Split to join them together before playing.

To join 001 files use this:

DOWNLOAD

For RAR files, dont use winzip, use this:

DOWNLOAD

or this 64 bit version

For Mac users that might stumble upon this thread there are several free/shareware utilities you might want to download.

SplitConcat - takes those .001, .002 files and combines them into one file

Unarchiver - handles many .rar compressed files

MacPAR Deluxe - .par files are used more commonly in Newsgroups to provide a file integrity check to repair damaged files. MacPAR also has a un-RAR function that handles some RAR files that other programs don't, especially those with passwords.

SimplyRAR - another Mac utility for handling RAR compressed files

MacHacha - similar to SplitConcat

You can find most of these at sites like download.com (from CNET) or MacUpdate.com
