Question about download speed

OK, so I just purchased Comcast Xfinity. They advertise download speeds up to 100mb. My independent speed tests say I'm getting 45mb download which is fine considering how slow my previous DSL speeds were.

The question is when I download from say Rapidgator or another service I get download speeds only up to say 6mb. Again super fast compared to what I was getting. I was just wondering if I"m doing something wrong or is the problem with the file hosting service. Is this typical?
