In the 80s I was still a Uni student with a very weak economy and buying a VCR was out of the question, so I bought my first VCR (a JVC) sometimes in the early 90s when I got my first real job.

I guess that my first own vids were shitty oh-so-cheap bad quality compilations, but my first quality VHS was - of course! - two Cadinot's, Classe de Neige and Le Jeu de Pistes.

Damn expensive! I think those two vids cost me more than a months rent...

I have never paid for a movie to own, but one of my favorite vhs tapes was called California Boys and while not from a big studio (that I remember anyway) has some seriously hot fucking.
