Reputation ratings

Hello guys,
Only really noticed the reputation ratings lately and dumb as I am I don't really understand how they work.
My reputation rating has halved in a day from 135 to 71 yet my posts have received more thanks.Can anyone explain the drop in my reputation?
I am enjoying being here so thanks guys.

Yea we changed the calculations a bit so it dropped for everyone, nothing personal against your account :). You will notice that your reputation rank is pretty much in the same place on the forum as it was before the changes.
The main reason why we have recently added the reputation system is because it lets you see under your control panel the latest "Thanks yous" you have received on the forum.

Thanks .I have no idea what constitutes a good or bad reputation but it is good to see if guys are thanking the poster.:thumbs up:
