Two very rich posts in this thread today - thanks a lot!!!

The first contains among other things also a few photos from 1940s Karlstad (my present home city) and I can tell that the City Hotel looks very much the same today, just some minor changes.

When it comes to the second post I can say that I very much remember the kind of corny or utterly ridiculous stage costumes so many bands and groups wore in the 1970s-80s... I certainly don't believe in the Swedish tax system as an explanation for the ridiculous taste in stage costumes - it's just the case that 1970s-80s fashion in many ways was quite awful...

But there were some pieces of clothings that were much better then than today: Shorts!!! In the late 70s and early 80s shorts were SHORT in a sense we haven't seen since then. After the 80s came the bermuda ugliness destroying male casual ware. (Yuck!)
