Hi Guys

I have some Good news, Over the weekend i discovered that the Samsung Galaxy S2 4.1.2 firmware was leaked onto the internet by Forum Member izap at XDA-Developers. Apparently this leaked firmware build "I9100XXLSJ" is very much near perfect ( meaning that its very close to the official released one which Samsung will beginning rolling out very soon. )

Here is some information on what will be coming to Galaxy S2 users when the final version of the new firmware is released, most Enhancements below are available in this near final firmware ( which i have already installed on my phone yesterday )

Some of the Enhancements in the new Jelly Bean Update:
- Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
- New TouchWiz Nature UX (Same UI as of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II)
- Samsung’s Cloud services
- Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play Features
- New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
- 2 Home screen modes
- New Notifications bar
- Google Now

& I reminder that this is a PRE-RELEASE version so not official from KIES.
As this is a PRE-RELEASE firmware so there will be some minor bugs, So it's entirely up to you if you chose to take this risk and install this firmware or wait for the final released version.

Firmware Details:
Android Version: 4.1.2 – JZO54K (Jelly Bean)
PDA: I9100XXLSJ
CSC: I9100OXXLS1
MODEM: I9100XXLS6
Changelist: 462349
Build Date: 6th November 2012

Flashing Instructions:
- Unzip the file ( that's the firmware link shown below )
- Open Odin 3.04
- Restart phone in download mode (Home+power+vol down)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a yellow sign in Odin
- Add CODE_I9100XXLSJ.tar to PDA
- Add MODEM_I9100XXLS6.tar to PHONE ( Use and extract the modem file from your countries current carrier Firmware file instead and not this one shown in red cause it will work better since the modem in this firmware ( shown in red ) is originally for the international version of Galaxy S2. )
- Make sure re-partition NOT ticked
- Start flash, sit back and wait a few minutes.

Here is the video instructions on how to do thw whole process of flash your device on Odin 3.04 Sorry that parts of the video isn't in English and ( Don't worry the firmware's file will be shown on your phone as English )

Do you know anything about the battery performance? Have you noticed any difference between this and ICS?

I don't have a Samsung but I think it's cool they're making the latest OS version available for a two year old model.

Hi my dear friend MaximumT:heart:

Aww you want to know how the battery performance is on 4.1.2? well it was alright at first but after 2 days i noticed that the batterys percentage started to act very strangely, like for example I fully charged it 100% and after i restarted the device it went to 60% like the battery just drained out very quickly for just rebooting:(, I was shocked:eek: , even with this new feature "Power Saving" setting switched on, It still didn't help much, but then again this is not the final complete firmware for 4.1.2 for Galaxy S2 but everything else is okay, Hopefully Samsung will fix this battery draining issue in the final version soon, I'm thinking about downgrading my phone back to ICS 4.0.3

When I updated from Gingerbread to ICS 4.0.3 (which I currently have) I got several problems with the phone, one being the battery performance. It was drained really quickly, and the only way to fix that was to do a factory reset. That's why I'm a bit reluctant to do another update because I lost everything back then, except for my contacts (thank god for that!). :) Now I'm quite happy with ICS, though. :)

Thanks MaximumT:heart: for your kind comment my dear friend & me too i also got problems with the phone as well such as the battery performance, but this phone is still good :) , I read that you got other several problems with this phone as well? hmm i haven't come across any other issues with this phone yet:thinking: & yes i know that the only way to fix the battery drainage issue is to do that factory reset and Aww  I'm sorry to hear that you lost everything on your phone when you upgraded to ICS 4.0.3, Aww I hope you are going to be alright:worried: :big hug: I'm glad to hear that you didn't lose your contacts when you upgraded from Gingerbread to ICS 4.0.3, before i upgrade to any new firmware, I always do a entire backup of my phone using Samsung Kies first and for any apk softwares i downloaded and saved in my built in SD Card i make copies of those files as well and place them on my desktop ( as in on my Mac computer )

btw? I just read a news article that Samsung have officially released the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S2 International version ( meaning unlocked and non carrier ) phones for Spain which also supports Regions: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom according to this link > http://refhide.com/?http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=10785

& Here is the news article i read this information on about the official release

http://refhide.com/?http://www.sammobile.com/2013/01/23/samsung-rolls-out-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-update-to-the-galaxy-s-ii/

and in the comments people have been asking how is the battery performance on this new release update compared to the Pre-release one and someone wrote, "we can’t answer that question at the moment, due to the Rom only been released for few hours" I'm thinking about updating my phone from the pre release 4.1.2 to Official Release 4.1.2 using the above method i wrote, so that i can see how the battery performance is.

If you invested in Apple four years ago you could still have the latest O.S. and new features now. iPhone rox. Also they are still easy to use after a case of beer.
