If nobody minds, I'd like to say one last thing to nidorino & anybody else interested. You will hear politicians, religious leaders, talk show hosts, etc talk frequently about scientists being unsure or debating whether evolution occurs or not. DON'T believe it!
There is a huge and exciting debate going on among biologists regarding evolution, but it's not about WHETHER evolution occurs; among biologists that's been a done deal for about a century now.
The debate is over the mechanisms for evolution, in other words HOW it occurs. There are some amazing things being discovered & ideas being discussed, and yes, there are big disagreements. That's how science works. There are big arguments over gravity, too, but no one is arguing about whether it exists.
