I'm on episode 2 of 'Making A Murderer' which is a documentary series. You quickly get the 'glued to your screen' effect.

Another absolutely fascinating documentary series is 'The Jinx'.

Does anyone know any other really good ones?

From my collection of documentaries here some I've liked most of all:

BRIDEGROOM - 2013
AMERICAN VAGABOND - 2013
APOKALYPSE VIETNAM - 2000
CAMP 14 - 2012
CAMP ARMADILLO - 2010
COMMON THREADS - Stories from the Quilt - 1989
CHEMSEX - 2015
THE KARSKI REPORT - 2010
THE CHRONICLES OF THE THIRD REICH - 2006
HE HAS SEEN WAR - 2011
MAKING A MURDERER - 2015

I have much more, but these are really very, very informative and interesting

Koyaanisqatsi (1982)

The title is a Hopi Native American word meaning "Life Out of Balance". This unique film is essentially wordless and plotless. Phillip Glass' minimalist score is coupled with director Godfrey Reggio's visuals of how humans have wreaked havoc on the planet.

The trailer really don't do the film justice. The lack of a formal narrative makes this film hard to "get into". But, if you let the music and images take over, it's an experience you likely will not forget.

Well 'Making a Murderer' turned out to be 'binge-worthy' as I have finished it already!

Brilliantly made. Very heartfelt. And VERY disturbing.

I'm almost sorry I watched it as it has left me feeling perturbed, and a little sad. I am no delicate flower, but even so for me this documentary was hard to watch. But worth watching nonetheless.

I can highly recommend Ken Burns' masterpiece on the US Civil war, simply called "The Civil War". It's available on Netflix here in Ireland.

You cannot get around any one of Ken Burns' documentaries. JAZZ is what I would choose if compelled to pick just one.

I've not watched that one yet - I really should.

I also really liked his one on Prohibition - it was something I'd heard about, but never really understood the nuance of before.

This is very nearly a documentary - and may also make your brain melt. It's pretty great.

"Dr. Strangelove: or how I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" also comes to mind.
