Sex Tourism; have you done it? Is it ethical? Would you recommend it?

I have recently come out and, I'm rather ashamed to say, I haven't had more than 1 gay experience in my 29 years due to my crippling social anxiety. I am seriously considering going on a holiday to a place that is known for sex tourism for the purpose of pushing myself to have these sexual experiences and make it 'easier' for myself to actually do it.

Do you have advice for places (Countries/Cities) where its safe (in every sense of the word) to do so? I've heard places like Prague, Amsterdam and Bali?

yes by all means. it is excellent for you to learn from others in the world that sex...straight, gay, lesbian, trans exists in other countries in ways that can be shocking at first. It will be fun for you as you "risk" trying new things out with new partners who may not have the same cultural background as you. I went to Thailand and fell in love with the whole country and all of its people. Yes they have cultural hang ups too but very different from the US or EU. that is exciting. And you will get to try new foods and make new perhaps life long friends in another country. I fell in love with Thailand. It is very safe to go there as a tourist. there is an open sex industry and available for any one for any type of sex fun you can imagine. the best thing about going to the Asian countries is that the cost is much less than in the US or EU. Thailand has always be a reasonable cost for a visit and stay. My advice>>>>do it.

I'm not sure you grasp the meaning of the word sex tourism.

Sex tourism is travelling abroad to pay for sex, often sex that would be illegal in your home country.

A lot of it is morally VERY questionable.

Rather than planning to go pay for sex, why not go to holiday resorts that attract gay people who are game for sex?

Another thing to remember is that the US and most members of the EU have "Sex Tourism" laws which means no matter what's legal there if it's illegal in your home country, you can still be prosecuted for it...

This is really the horrible part of sex tourism - rich westerners using their money to effectively rape kids.

I'm a big believer that prostitution should be legal as long as the prostitutes are adults entering into the contract freely with a full understanding of what they are doing - that's just not what is going on with sex tourism.

I'm happy that Ireland is one of those countries that prosecutes Irish people who go to places like Thailand to do this kind of thing.

I’ve watched clips of tours organized to visit sex spots such as strip parlours and brothels in another country. That’s what sex tourism means to me. I spend the winter months in Brazil and while there I partake of what the country has to offer in the way of local culture and music, cuisine, natural attractions and gay sauna spots. There is definitely sex involved and international travel too but I don’t view it as sex tourism because I’d still be going there even if there were no sauna venues to visit.

Um, I deliberately included Berlin in the European tour to visit a big, beefy, mature bodybuilder escort. Does that count as "sex tourism", or just "mixing business with pleasure"??
