Anyone skate on a regular basis? Im buying a pair of new ice skates today. I used to be able to skate well but it stopped after elementary school.. Watching others skate outside while I was reading made me want to pick it up again and be able to skate at an advanced level. Anyone skate? Im pretty excited!

I grew up playing hockey and play regularly during the winter. Skating's fun too, but I feel kind of incomplete without a stick in my hands. ;)

I just bought my pair of skates on friday:

I love them got them baked to fit the contours of my foot.

I just went skating today and did fairly well not being on the ice for so many years the feeling was all new again. I did end up falling after an hour I have been skating on my knee and bumping my chin a little and so my knee hurts a bit that i limp and I was suppose to go clubbing.. but I hope the pain reliever works :)

It was so much fun none the less! :D I'm going back again tomorrow, and bringing my skates to work so I can go and skate at the recreation centre beside my work

I'm surprised your feet aren't sore from the new skates. It generally takes a while to get use to them.

I skated and played hockey all the time as a kid. Haven't skated now in years. Frankly hate the cold as I get older. I always had the problem of my feet freezing and it's worse now.

I really want to learn how to inline skate in summer. I had bought a really good pair a few years ago, but just can't seem to get the hang of it. So many people told me if you can ice skate you can roller blade, but I just can't seem to get it.

Good luck with the skating.:thumbs up:
I would think your legs will be pretty sore after a while.

Hey Tom,

Just got home from clubbing, luckily my knee didn't bother me at all except for going down which kinda triggered some discomfort. My skates were designed to be soft inside, and less breaking in for my skates. One of the things I had hated when I was younger was the idea of having to break in new pair of skates like new pair of leather shoes. But these are amazing I am able to use them for hours and very very minor discomfort. :)

God, now that you talk about it I remember coming home some times and the blisters on the back of the heels would be so bad, and the socks would be all bloody. How painful those were wearing shoes for the next week or two, and of course couldn't skate again till they healed.

Bloop babe ;) - please don't link directly to another website image. You need to host it in your own account. I've rehosted this one for you in my own pimpandhost account :)
