How old is your computer? And which resolution do the vids your talking about have? For HD content you probably need a dual core CPU.

If your computer is so old that you don't know how old it is, the most likely problems is that it's just too slow to play HD videos which are encoded with a modern codec - it takes a lot of grunt to play back H.264 HD video!

Some time ago I tried to get some vids working on an old PC. That's when I tried a lot of different codecs but it did not help. I think a different codec won't help you, but maybe it is worth a try. Bur first, you need to find out which codec is used for your videos. You can find this out using the Gspot utility on one of the files:

Run it on a vid, make a screenshot of the output and put the result here!

As I expected - it's an HD video encoded with H.264 - you need a modern machine to deal with that.

Dexter,
I'm afraid B. is right, your machine is too slow for this codec. As a thumb rule, any computer with a dual core CPU is fast enough to decode HD content.

The fastest H.264 codec that I know is CoreAVC. You can download a demo version from nvidia:

But I doubt it will be fast enough. H.264 is very CPU-hungry.

No .exe files please!
Thanks :)
