Slower download speed

Hi, newbie here

I'm not sure if its just me or it goes for everyone. The download speed has drastically decreased. I'm a free user, and for someone using high speed DSL, the download speed fell by 50 to 60%. Usually, a 300+ MB file can be downloaded in less than an hour, but now it takes more than two. I'm talking about the common file-sharing sites: HF, Mega, and Netload. Hope someone has noticed.

It might have something to do with the time of day, if it is a busy period or not. Have you tried using a download manager like IDM (Internet Download Manager), this may help speed things up a bit, plus it's free.
