Ok, I think we've all have noticed that the software cuts off postings.

I don't know if you know this already but I've observed that this happens whenever I use a sign of another language like ae, oe, ue etc.

like here now, when I'll post an

edit: It's still correct in the "preview post", but not when I send it.

Yes, thanks. It has been noticed and we've asked the Tech Admin to investigate. We've not had word back yet as far as I know.

Yes, I read that you know the problem and that you're working at a solution. :)

I just mentioned my observation just in case you haven't noticed the connection to signs from other languages. It might be helpful to the rest too, so they might just avoid those when writing names or such.

edit: Yes, I saw you've noticed before and that there is even a post of me in that thread. :duh: Errrm, must have been my cat, she sometimes logs on here with my account. I really shouted at her not to do that but she doesn't care. :(

It just happened to me again. I think it has to do with to much formatting.

I remember in the Spanish/English post, I was trying to post Spanish lyrics to a song with English lyrics underneath and alternated the colors of the lines.

Just now, I had formatted a post to have bolded and colored lines, and lists with bullets, but I had to get rid of the bullets for it to actually post

Made me laugh when I read "posting eating forum" so had to click to see what it was about :)

Arrrr the special characters outside the Latin character set. But there are special characters in this, but only accepts "normal" characters.

If you do post a post with a special character from that character onwards does not post.

But posts that already have the character posted in appear strangely

I typed Tim, but with the "i" with two dots, but appears now in the post as below

I'm sure the Admin Bods are working on it, but really to be honest it is probably not a high priority as the forum works at the moment if we dont use those special characters

I'm sure there will be an announcement or replies to the various messages commenting on this as to when it has been fixed so we all know we can get trigger happy again with those special characters :)

So I hope you don't mind my asking but anyhting new? Incoming and outgoing PNs are still cropped. Are the experts just busy or on holiday? Is this is an unsolvable problem? Is it advisable to change to emails at all?

Thanks to the Admins who still are aware of the problem and are working on a solution; some characters are working now but still these characters are not accepted by the forum-software:
