At first I must admit that such spanking vids are very exciting for me and very soon I'll get a boner - and - well - I'm a little bit ashamed about that. But this vids have a special fascination for me. I would never do that to any other person and I would not endure that for myself.

But - and this is the question - what brings young guys to persuade to be spanked or caned or to endure a bastinado? Mostly I think this a vids from Russia. If I'm tired or in a hurry, nothing will get me off faster than a good spanking video: some can make me go from soft to spurt in two minutes flat! Sadly most are pretty terrible: they're "fetish fodder" going to extremes of pain and the guys are not attractive. But once in a while, one of the standard porn studios will incorporate some moderate (non-torture) spanking with regular porn actors, and that can be very hot. My favorite, gold-medal, "works every time" vintage clip is from a '90s VHS called "Spank Me, Man!". It features Paul Corrigan slowly, steadily, firmly spanking the stud who is eagerly blowing him. AFAIK, this is the only scene that combines "normal" spanking with an extended blowjob (preceded by a good makeout session and rimming the spankee).

More recently, in 2012 MEN released a hot locker room shower scene with Mike Martin spanking Jayden Grey after catching him ogling his crotch. More often than not, if you want new spanking videos you need to delve into the fetish stuff and either fast-forward over the extremes or edit them out. I've snipped a few good scenes from some of the Kinkmen/Men On Edge series, like "Daddy" Nick Moretti spanking "Son" Colton Steele after he catches him with a BDSM magazine. Aside from being hot, this is actually pretty amusing: "Mommy" leaves the house and "Daddy" thinks spanking his "Son", then tying him to a coffee table and blowing him, will "cure" him of his fetish? As to why performers would participate in such scenes, the vast majority are amateurs who get off on it and don't mind collecting some cash to be filmed in action. Many of the "mainstream" performers who dabble in these scenes are obviously into it in their personal lives. Some of them walk onto the set and within seconds completely inhabit the dominant or submissive role they're playing: far more believably than any of the "vanilla" scenes that made them famous. You can fake plain gay sex and often get away with it, but maintaining a dripping erection while getting spanked probably indicates you enjoy it for real.

Maybe thats part of the turn-on for us, Shelter: the sex seems a little more real and intense? Up to a point, anyway: if I see broken skin, welts or bruises I'm outta there. Ditto slings and dungeons and leather: doesn't do a damned thing for me. I like a little roughness to spice up my porn sometimes, but it has to be a plausible fantasy (workmen, boss/clerk, cop/suspect, neighbors, etc).

I'm the opposite to the OP. I enjoy being spanked, and I don't mind returning the favour, but I have very little interest in watching videos of spanking. But then I have never been that much into porn videos of any sort. I also have very little interest in the fantasy aspect of it. Some spanking couples like to act out a father/son scenario, or teacher/student, or cop/crim, etc. I just like to be spanked, can't be bothered with the roleplay.

As to what brings any guys (not just young guys) to "endure" a spanking, I can't answer that except by saying that I don't know how some people can endure rap music, or death metal, or several other genres i could name. I'd much rather have a spanking session than be forced to listen to an AC/DC album all the way through. THAT is what I call punishment.

I can definitely see where you would feel that way: if you've been able to enjoy spanking in real life, you don't need the porn, and if you don't need the porn, you don't need the fantasy setup that goes with it.

For those of us whose spanking interest tilts more toward porn than reality, the fantasy setup (to a degree) is necessary for it to turn our cranks. Two guys in a spanking session with no context is hot in real life but doesn't translate in a video: sometimes you just need the standard sixty-second canned setup story used in most porn (especially if you aren't familiar with the performers and don't have an existing feel for them).

When I mentioned a "plausible fantasy" element of workmen, boss/clerk, etc, I was referring to a personal preference for spanking contained within a typical porn setup, as opposed to the more hardcore-fetish-oriented dungeon, whips and leather setups. Spanking as an element in "normal" porn gives me an extra buzz, spanking isolated in a purely fetish context with no connection to reality bores me silly. The only spanking "porn" that does fire my interest is amateur porn, posted on places like XTube by guys like myself. The lighting, camera angle etc may be slightly unprofessional, and the subjects of the video may not look like Adonis, but the point is that I can imagine myself as part of that scene. Whenever I have seen spanking in studio porn, it always LOOKS like it's acting - which of course it is, but it's not supposed to look as though it is. The movement of hands or straps is often slightly out of sync with the sound of the impact and the yells of the spankee, leading me to suspect that it's being faked, that there is no actual contact at all or maybe only soft contact. Totally get your point about the amateur stuff: some of that does work for me too, although I'm surprised how much of it also has the defects you attribute to the more mainstream studio variations. Sometimes you hit a good compromise, as with some of Paul Baressi's fetish clips from fifteen years ago. The man is NOT joking around: he's one serious spanking top, to the point of a little scary (he's beaten the daylights out of some twinks with palms and his belt).
