Stormy weather and floods...

It's like, day five of almost constant rain and thunderstorms here. The river, which is only half a mile from my house, and the creeks are all flooding. The grass in my yard has grown to almost a foot high due to all the rain and I can't cut it because it's too wet. The only road to the discount tobacco store I buy my cigarettes at is under 8 feet of water. Several areas of town have been evacuated and several smaller towns in the area have been evacuated...

So... I've been stuck at home the last two days, short on cigarettes and only able to go online between thunderstorms...

Just hang-on there man. You're still lucky that you can still go online with such situations. Here in our place, if it's stormy, most likely, we don't have power source for days. Damn. That sucks more.

It's not that my internet keeps going down, it's that I've always been told not to use the computer during a thunderstorm...

I'm not too worried about flooding either... I found an old map of the areas affected during the worst flood ever here in 1937 and my house along with three or four on either side of it were the only ones in the area not under water...

These were taken just a few blocks down the street from my house in 1937...
