Anyone know how to do this? Like, which program I should use etc? So far I've tried Image Grabber II and the KM video player and neither are working.

Good question! The only way I've ever managed to do it was to take individual screen shots with VLC and then create a CS using image management software like ACDSee or Irfanview. There must be a better way though.

PC/XP but come to think of it, I've never tried KM Player, as I've only very recently started using it. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

I get the error message:

"Impossible to work at Super Speed mode, as there is no KMP transform filter"

Needless to say, I have no idea what this means.

I forgot that problem. Drove me crazy. From KMPlayer forum, I think this solves it.

"This means you have to disable the SuperSpeed mode and use KMP transform filter.

SuperSpeed mode: F2-> General -> Playback -> tab Work Priority
KMP transform filter: F2-> Video Processing ->tab General -> in condition select "Always (strongly recommended)

F2 = Options, Preferences

I tried to link 2 screen shots. I don't know if Pimp and Host works on messages (hate it anyway), if not, see this screen shot.

I think it also makes it so KMPlayer can't play DVDs, but I don't use it for that. If you want it to play DVD's then I think you need to disable the filter selected in #1.

Hope that works. If not, let me know.

This is excellent, works like a charm and I think a lot of members will appreciate your instructions.
I think your post could be incorporated into the Tutorial on making screenshots with KM Player and so I'd like to just clarify a couple of points, and I'm no techie. I guess these settings are only necessary to create screenshots for mp4 (incl m4v) and presumably mkv extensions. Would that be right?
Would you agree to the following form of words?

Step 1: Right click on KMP and open Options and then Preferences or click F2.
Step 2: In General/Playback, Work Priority Tab, ensure "Super Speed Mode" is NOT enabled.
Step 3: In General/DVD Settings, Navigator Tab, tick "Disable KMP Video Transform Filter".
Step 4: In Video Processing, General Tab, in "Condition" select "Always Use (Strongly Recommended)".

I strongly recommend Videothumbnailsmaker by Scorp,i use it since ages.
It can handle all common video formats, including mp4 & real media.
Problems only appear if you haven't the right codecs installed,

I agree on 1, 2 and 4, but on # 3 I just have it set at "System default recommended) and I can get screen caps of individual frames off a DVD. But I've never played around with that setting and DVDs, so . . .

I have been using BSPlayer for a few months for screen caps and I think it's better than KMP, which I also like very much. I've had problems sometimes doing MP4 thumbnails with KMP but never with BSP. BSP is also freeware.

Here's another good program, specially for batch captures

Hello, everyone! (^_^)

Here's a another good program, specially if you need/want to take screencaps of several movies at once.

Scenegrabber.NET

As the name implies, it's for Windows and it requires .Net to be installed.

Bye!
