I do wonder though if it's too little too late. The planet will survive, whether we will in the long term is another question!

Well, one of my friends who is a biologist told me they already have a vaccine for that bee cancer so I hope the population will stabilize soon enough.

That's good news!!

We have lost a lot of once common species of birds over here too. You rarely see a Thrush anymore, when I was a kid they were very common . The cuckoo, a staple of the "dawn Chorus" is now becoming quite rare.

Bees are plentiful in New Jersey...must be the "clean" air!!!

That's good news!!

Not to mention the Dodo which must have been quite common in your childhood, right?

I've only seen two ladybugs and three butterflies so far this year.
Though maybe that's just cause I never leave my room...

We are killing the planet....bees, ladybugs...just symptoms...of a dying eco system...

OH yeah? So lets go with a bang - where shall we meet for the orgy - before we all go to GayHeaven?

And I have heard that besides the diseases and mites that take their toll on the bee population a systemic insecticide is suspect number one! The insecticide is absorbed by the plants sprayed and make all parts toxic - including pollen and the nectar - very bad for bees!

but insecticide is banned to begin with already so .. its no longer legally able to be used by people.. or do they still use it in farms?

insecticide banned?...really only ddt is, but that is about it. Farmers use millions and and millions of gallons each year....not to mention the pest people...
