The older you get you more of this you see. There are loads of guys/gals I remember from my younger days that would no longer be a head-turner, but that's age!

Something we have to accept, or spend the rest of our life in depression ;)

I think , also, you get to a point where looking good ceases to be a priority and you just want to be comfortable and enjoy life without worrying what others think. It's harder for a star who's always in the public eye. You get lots of bitchy remarks in magazines because they've put on a little bit of weight, if they're happy & thick-skinned they won't care. A few sadly go to pieces over it.

I know...I'm dealing with the aging thing and it sucks, but I'm not giving up...never....but you are right xman...non-acceptance of aging does cause depression, bad, I know. I don't want to be 25 again, just 35 forever

It just seems like poor Val has given up, he so needs a major makeover and several nips and tucks....His decline is just so dramatic:eek:

The problem with plastic surgey is that men tend to take a different approch to it than women. Women take the regular maintance route, getting several small procedures over time to maintain a youthfull appearance, you hardly even notice a change, they just stay the same. Men on the other hand, wait untill it's too late and then attempt a major overhaul. The end result is the men come out looking like a plastic mannequin, really have you seen Rupert Everett lately?

Yes Rupert Everett waited way too long, one must be low key about these things
I didn't even reconize him

oh, guess that was Susan's make-over which...anything would have helped...anything...poor woman...

Is Rupert Everett preparing to star in House of Wax 2? How else to explain his transformation from dashing movie star to...well...creepy, wrinkle-free man?
They do these skin tone laser treatments and have over-done that on Rupert, what gives that wax look....natural skin does have uneven skin tones...

He looks much hotter here and should have went to maintain this look

So this leads to my new thread question.......
Have you ever had any work done???

me?
oh..just a bit...
3 nose jobs (2 because of sport injuries)
a little lipo here and there
Botox
juvederm....is awesome
oh, does my chin implant count? I got that when I was 25.
But I am not vain, just ugly and getting old....sigh

Somehow I knew this question was going to come up, I've probably had more work done than anyone else here, except maybe the transexuals. But it was all reconstructive. I had a tumor (benign) removed from my face, and my face was ripped open from my upper lip through my nose to about an inch below my right eye. By ripped, I mean it was torn almost completely in half. My right oribital socket was shattered and my jaw was shattered. My entire face is held together with wire. And these were all from different injuriers years apart, not just one bad accident. I think that those of you who have seen my pic in the "What do you look like" thread would agree that while I'm not exactly pretty, I've had some damn good surgeons...

I am old (of age, 65 next month) and it doesn’t worry me. When I see my picture in the mirror I have to admit that the beauty has gone. But, so what. That’s life. I would never try to do medical things to look younger. The only thing I do is trying to keep my body fit. Not to impress others, but for my own profit, so I can use my body as a youngster. I care about my weight. I am 1m. 80 and weigh 70 kilos. One of the great things of aging is that it does not interest you what others think. There is nothing wrong with getting old. I recommend it to anyone!

One thing I would like to know -
Do you think you have had good surgeons because they have also done cosmetic plastic surgery that might not have needed to be done rather than reconstructive in your case or do you think surgeons who do purely cosmetic surgery do not reconstruct

basically are plastic surgery customers who want a nose job because they feel like it actually the guinea pigs to help plastic surgeons practice for when they are needed to help with patients who have no choice but to go through plastic surgery?
