Trial after trial!

Hey chaps, I recently applied for a job in the local gay area of Manchester and got a trial run with the "Crunchbar". Thursday night I turn up and it all goes well! That same night ONE of the managers says "well done, you were good, so can you work on Saturday?" - I replied yes, of course.

I was then requested to come down to the bar the day after to input my debit card details and national insurance number, only to be told that on Saturday I will be watched again by ANOTHER manager, and if THAT goes well, I'll possibly get a full time shift rota set out for me.

So it's Saturday, and I'm heading down there in 4 hours time for a 9pm-5am shift, as it's going to be extremely busy! The pressure of it being busy coupled with the fact I'm being watched again to determine if the job is mine, is really getting to me. I proved myself two nights ago and the staff were impressed, why am I being put through it again?

They must be quite particular with their staff, which is probably only a good thing, makes for a good bar.

Hay Management in any organisation can do what ever they want. I think they do it deliberately to see how you cope under pressure, and also to see how you work on your own. You never know they may want you for a different job in the future so they are seeing what your skill set you have.

As XMAN says, just be your self.

And hay you are now reading this the day after.... so come on.. how did it go ?

"Crunchbar" sounds like an exercise machine for working your abdominals.

In which case if that's you in your avatar, I'd say it's unnecessary as you seem to already have a decent midsection.

Not been up in Manchester for about three years now. And doubt I will be up there any time soon. New job does not involve travelling

Well done Sam. I know what it is like to be told you have a job. I my self have been looking for over six months for a job, and when the agency finally tells you they the company wants you it is such a relief!
