I'm having trouble performing searches here. When you type in "hot guy" for example, the search fails because each of the words are too short and quotes are ignored. When you type in "John Smith", the engine looks for posts with either John or Smith in them when I'm looking for posts with both words in them. Searching for "+John +Smith" gives you the same results and quotations are ignored so you can't search for exact phrases either. Please help.

'hot guy' isn't a good example of a search because 'hotness' can be very subjective. If you want to search for 'John Smith' then use the search query below:
John AND Smith
John AND Smith
slimjim

Using the + sign is good but for 3 letter words add the asterisk... i.e in your search for hot guy you would input
hot*+guy*
but bare in mind that using the * wild card means that all words beginning with the 3 letters should be found... so if you searched for can* then it should return post with cannot; canada; candy etc. Use the advanced search to help filter searches on date posted and which section of GH to look in, you can even filter on the filehost used
