Uploading an animated GIF as a Avatar

Hi Guys

I'm having a bit of trouble uploading animated gif pic as in Avatar here on the forum, where i tried using the Option 1's Box > - Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website, this following message keeps pop in up on my screen when i try to submit it "Remote File too large" I even followed the forum's avatar default size rules "The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 30.0 KB (whichever is smaller)" and i still get that Remote File too large error, I know that there are other members here that have animated gif avatar's and I was kindly wondering how they got there's to work?

Do you mean avatar or signature? The first pic is 240px150p with a file size of 130Kb which is larger than the forum's default limit which is 150px150p.. You may have to crop the image, possible to a square, and (not or) ensure the file size is below 30Kb.

This limitation is associated with trying to improve page loading time

Edit.. Just read your post fully, should've had my coffee before replying.

Have you tried downloading the file and then uploading? If I can remember well, there used to be an old vB bug with remote uploads and animated gifs. If you are uploading to another site, another thing to consider is whether they support animated avatars

Thanks Casanova for your kind comments & helping me with this my friend, & i meant to say it's for my avatar not my signature, the small image above is the one I'm having trouble uploading while the larger image is only an example of what the first image looks like, & thanks for the advice tips & letting me know that the first pic i made is too big, i just didn't know that, cause i did make sure that it was 150px150px when i made it, something must of happened while i was waiting for the file to be saved after editing it, I'll have to re-edit the file again and making sure that file size is below 30kb. Added Note : I did tried downloading the file but i haven't uploaded my new re edited version i made late last night my time yet as I'm tempting to retry it again right now & thanks for letting me know that there's a old vB bug with remote uploads & animated gifs, & yes I'm uploading it to another website and they do support animated avatars my friend. C:C
