Wanted: Male Prostitutes

It seems the State of Nevada will now allow male prostitution in the counties where female prostitution is legal. Nevada is the only State in the US where any form of prostitution is legal.

While the author of the article (link is below) is pretty opinionated and supportive of legal prostitution, and I think rightfully so, the article doesnt mention if guys can pay for a male...I imagine though it would be allowed if the male prostitute was into it.

It then begs the question...would you do it? Your thoughts?

I went to the Mustang Ranch, a very famous brothel that has since closed, and it was really clean, very nice and the girls...I was there for drinks not sex...were pretty I must say...and I know they make good money. So, what about it?

That's the reason I'm put off it, not from any moral standpoint, if it's something a person actually wants to do then it doesn't bother me, but I would always be aware that they are doing this because they're in hard times, possibly even forced into it in some way, or maybe feeding a drug habit.

All of that would put me off. The fantasy is one thing, paying for it has a certain fetish appeal I suppose, but in reality I'm not so sure I'd even enjoy it, certainly not without feeling a touch of guilt deep down.

I suppose you could say similar about porn, but generally I'd imagine that's done in a far more controlled environment. If prostitution was regulated and subject to legal checks on the wellbeing etc then I'd not oppose it even if I didn't want to participate. Having it on the black market, as it is in most places, probably causes far more problems.

I agree that it should be legalised and regulated. Fact is, it would happen no matter what. Least we can do is ensure our girls and guys are safe when they're out there.

I don't decry it, because for some people, it works. Take Dakota for example. He's a reasonably nice guy, but.... well he'd never be a high-flying exec. He just doesn't have the brains for it. He's a pretty face and not much more. So porn works as probably the best career he could get with his set of skills.

And, well, he enjoys it. After he got his (I got his ) confidence up, he became a bit of an exhibitionist. He loves the attention and being able to be in the knowledge that people find him attractive etc. So yeah, perfect career really!

So, definitely not for me, but for some, it really is the right choice =)

With a condom on, you KINDA can. All you have to do is ensure that you pull some weird-ass face (since I don't think any guy's face is that attractive) and make a bit of noise. I doubt they're gonna be asking to inspect the condom after the event!

I wouldn’t solicit a prostitute—it would feel exploitative and alienating. Anyway, I think the full reality is that most of these boys probably wouldn’t be attracted to the profession without having experienced sexual abuse and dire poverty—often being teenage runaways. It isn’t a practical profession either, given it’s small window—the physical taxation (including so many drugs to numb the pain and humiliation) certainly doesn’t help slow the aging process, and most boys over 21 or so simply find they can’t do it anymore—I’ve read a really good book about this by Michel Dorais, that included proposals for helping these boys find different employment. I think everyone should have a right to good employment with living wages and comfortable working conditions, and if these social problems didn’t exist (affecting both parties,) I really think there would be very few people who would choose to enter into something like that. I don’t think heavy criminalization is the answer, but legalization and regulation probably doesn’t really solve things anyway (you couldn’t, after all, regulate that boys who run away from abusive homes at 13 don’t become rentboys anyway—you can only try to tackle that at it’s source.)
