Hay Guyz,

Im watching the Olympics closing ceremony as I type this. Not as good as the opening one, but it has not finished yet.

So is anyone else "Multi tasking" (That us men can do I have been told) and watching and on the net

Someone doing the tight rope as I type

I like all the night effects in the audience

Eric Idle, Batman and Robin (from Only Fools and Horses) and Freddie were the highlights for me.

I totally disagree. They should have scrapped all those acts pre-1985. How are we projecting a forward thinking modern country to A billion people by indulging in some nonesense some old geriatric Bbc fart came up with?

They literally bought people back from the dead as if we don't have enough live talent. Oh and then there were all those bad Britain got talent rejects on parade. God! Jessie J saved it from being a total disaster.

Remember, Alexxx, this is a world audience. Cutting edge it's not. Millions of grandmothers are watching!

Kudos to London for putting George Michaels up there. I just saw it. Last time I saw him doing that song, he was on MTV, and a lickable pop lollipop he was. Singing "Freedom" as a middle aged gay bear...awesome!

The opening ceremonies were entertaining, but also more formal as they acknowledge each nations team individually. What I love about the closing ceremonies is that they are more of a party. The athletes are just all together instead of representing their countries.

I thought the music was just right in keeping with a party atmosphere. When you go to a wedding you don't just hear the current artists. Everybody dances and sings along to old songs by The Beatles, George Michael (even the Wham songs), and Queen.

I thought Eric Idle was a great moment. Only the British can make a song optimistic, depressing, sarcastic, and funny at the same time. I also liked the big finish with the human cannonball. In the US we got a close-up shot of Prince Harry right after the guy landed and the prince was doubled over with laughter.

It's always sad to see the flames go out. It all goes by so fast.

(Missed opportunity - Duran Duran singing Rio when the flag was passed to Brazil for the next Olympics.)

This show was great. Eric Idle was also great, this song what he sang is just evergreen same as Monty Python at all. But if the show was about british music where was some British heavy metal?! Maiden, Judas etc.. ?

Agreed, at least The Who closed things out.
