hey buddies...I know I haven't been around much the last several months. Now I can finally tell you why and its with a LOT of relief!:whew:
Last fall I noticed my vision was starting to get weird...I'd walk outside with someone and comment "oh it's hazy out today!" and they'd say..."no, it's actually pretty clear". We would laugh it off and ignore it but gradually and very quickly, my vision began to decline. At first it was only when it was really sunny outside and it didn't really affect me so I didn't really worry about it. Then, week after week, it was getting worse and worse until I finally went to the eye doctor assuming I just finally had to throw in the towel and admit I needed glasses. Turned out glasses were the least of my worries - I had cataracts! Now before the old man jokes start (I'm NOT!:no I had no idea cataracts could strike a good looking man in his 20's...okay...30's...okay EARLY 40'sX_X but yes...that's what they were. (Family history was a factor...these were not your ordinary cataracts)
The Doc said I would be amazed how fast this type of cataract would advance and in the 3 weeks it took to schedule a surgery on just one of my eyes - I was! I went from average vision without glasses to seeing only rough shapes in a cloudy fog in that time and it was scary as hell. It got so bad not I couldn't read ANYTHING on a computer screen unless I had a black background with green font in HUGE letters and even then it was iffy. My job depends on my eyes so I was worried I might lose my sight forever until my first surgery 2 weeks ago that replaced the cloudy lens in my right eye and it was almost miraculous. Just had the other done this week and now my vision in nearly back to normal. The surgeries each took less than an hour total and only 10 minutes to open up my eye - remove the bad lens and replace it with a new one. I can see great again and I'm so happy - not to mention RELIEVED!!
sorry for rambling but I just wanted to share my story and my happiness!
peace buddies,
