Here's an interesting one
Today Alex and I had an interesting discussion regarding our two additional children's last names. Well we're a gay couple so there's no such things as "give the children the father's name" Alex may be the one that looks more like a girl but he has a
beautiful 8 inches clitoris down in his pants and I have one even bigger
so that doesn't make him a girl and neither am I . Now we though about giving them both our last names, for Jasmine I didn't put my last name as one official, but she has rights to it. Jasmine got her daddy and mommy last name (because her mother is my best friend and we do not want her out of her life) but she does have my last name and I am registered as one of her parent.
Now here's the dilemma and let's see what you guys from GH think about it. Without giving away my last name and Alex's I should tell you that I was adopted by a fairly old French aristocratic family, in France we have a whole city that bear our last name, In Canada there's streets and a whole region that bear our last name... my family are coming from the old royal "Plantagenet" dynasty... they were direct cousins of few kings. So if you guys know the naming convention of Medieval and pre-Medieval France than you would know that your name is attached to the location you administer. per example: Francois, Duke of Westminster, Lord of Something Something, In French this will translate as Francois
de Westminster
de Quelque que chose... "de" means "from" so in my last name I have two variances of "de" as the family were Lord (title often given to cousins and other direct or indirect family member of the king) and Baron (next level up for a knight becoming noble) which means they owned lands, castles and manors... now there was several branches of our family, we had Dukes (long time attributed to Princes, but a Duke comes from latin DUX and a dux is a military commandant), a "count" is also in military under commandment from a Duke for the protection of territories. If you want me to explain later on how the noble titles worked in Medieval France and how titles were assigned, just ask lol
.
So to make a long story short..;. my last name contains 31 letters if we do not count my full name, I have both of my parents' last names as it was the custom in New France in 1600ad... now here's another interesting fact Alex also has his two parents last name... which will make a last name as long as 50+ letters if we were to give both of our children our respective family names... And NO there's no cutting it... LOL
So we were thinking of giving them our primary last name... the paternal ones and add all our additional names in options so they can choose... also we are going to choose new first names for our children HOWEVER we are blending and keeping their original names. My actual name is a blend with my old and new first name which gives me one heck of a unique first name... NOBODY in the world has a first name like mine
since it's an hyphenated name but both of them are from the bible (yeah Ironic isn't it) an atheist with two significant names coming from a book I refute with all my heart
Alex wants to name the girl Marika (was the name of his little sister that died when she was 4 years old... could not refuse him that) and I want to name the boy Sasha... which is Alex's middle name and it can be used properly in both French and English; the pronunciation is exactly the same
but he also will be bearing Alex's dad name "Jamal" who died last year of cancer... and this will serve him as a middle middle name
So that's the dilemma... you guys have any idea or did we make the right choice?
