G.Verdi - Don Carlo - Big Aria of King Phillip
I enjoyed parts of Verdi's opera "Don Carlo" today and I want to share this special aria with one of the best bass singers of our times - Ferruccio Furlanetto who sings as King Phillip about that he was never loved by his wife and finally he starts to think about in general and he wishes to see what is going on in other people's hearts. He is such a powerful man but finally he is just feeling lonely.
It's of course a sad thing like usually in operas but this aria is just wonderful.

W.A.Mozart - Don Giovanni - Ouverture
My hero in classical music - Herbert von Karajan - conducts a beautiful ouverture of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" and here is shown really well, why the Vienna Philharmonic has this huge Mozart tradition, because it just sounds like Mozart and it is pure music making.
Finally it is a good contrast to the Verdi I posted before
