k.d. lang - Miss Chatelaine
A bit of background on all the fun bubbles in this video and a wonderful song and voice:
- the artist, k.d. lang, is a popular and well known Canadian singer who came out in public as a lesbian in 1992
- the song title is a reference to a Canadian women's lifestyle magazine, Chatelaine (English) and Châtelaine (French), has a history of being a fairly progressive magazine
- k.d. lang, who usually appears much more androgynous in her videos, plays into hyper-femininity here including Lawrence Welk bubbles to boot; in this respect the video is quite ironic
