Katie Melua - Fields Of Gold

Katie Melua’s gorgeous version of “Fields of Gold” is this year’s official Children in Need single, supporting the charity’s 2017 Appeal. Originally written and recorded by Sting, the track was a favourite of the organisation’s late president Sir Terry Wogan.

I've always had a crush on Ian Brown the singer. I'd love to adore him a little bit some time.

Thanks for the Elton John songs. These songs were his big comeback in the 80s. Before this people figured he was washed up after he came out as gay and then got tangled in some drug problems. But he put out these hit singles and showed that he could compete on MTV with all the pop newcomers.

Also, on "Blues", that's Stevie Wonder on harmonica. Later in the decade they would sing together on the Burt Bacharach song "That's What Friends are For". This song was recorded as a charity single to raise money for AIDS research.
