I read something yesterday that made part of me very excited and another part of me kind of sad.
The good news? No Doubt is finally coming out with a new album after nearly 10 years (their last album, "Rock Steady" was released in 2001. They have released singles since then, but this is the first full album of new music in a decade).
The bad news? Gwen Stefani made the announcement that she would no longer be recording any solo music.
While many of you are thinking, "Well, it doesn't matter considering she's the lead singer of the group", it's still different. She was able to express a more pop/R&B feel with her solo work that the group does not... and while I do love me some No Doubt, I'm going to miss what Gwen brought to the table on her own. Her two albums, "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." and "The Sweet Escape" had many rotations on my CD player and iPod and she definitely had some very memorable moments (tell me you don't walk past bananas in a market and the melody of "Hollaback Girl" doesn't pop into your head! :rofl

Anyway, I'm going to miss it... but I suppose we'll always have the memories.
This is probably my favorite song from her altogether. Yes, it's one of those "I've lived this" moments in musical history... it definitely holds close to my heart.
We'll miss ya, Gwen... but I look forward to No Doubt's new release later this year... now, hurry up!)
