I use Verizon. It is said to have the largest service area in America. I've never had any experience to disprove that.

It's kinda pricey but we pay the extra money because all our friends and family are on Verizon too. It's just easier that way.

Thnking about this made me wonder about mobile phone companies in other countries.

Where you live... which company is supposed to be the one with the best service area? which company do you use? and how does it work if you travel through other countries like in Europe where people move across borders all the time by car, bus, train or plane? do you have to pay 'roaming' charges?

Which phone service is best where you live? Which one do you use?

I use Vodafone, it's the no.2 best in service where i live ( Australia ) as Telstra Mobile is number 1, but Vodafone is get there, since been with them for 4 years as they are the cheapest, i haven't experience any problems with them, there customer service is better than Telstra's as i heard from friends and family, Coverage for Vodafone is 96% while Telstra is 100% as they are the biggest in my country.

With Vodafone, I'm on the new $80 Red Plan which used to be called $80 unlimited plan, i get 5Gb of data for mobile internet, Infinite standard calls anytime to any network in Australia, Infinite standard TXT & PXT anytime here & to overseas, 300 international minutes, Infinite voicemail, i also get 4G as well, even if i had it before on my old mobile plan.

And regarding about roaming, with my plan i take/use all the data, call and TXT inclusions that i normally use in Australia with me to 47 eligible countries across the US, NZ, UK, Brazil and selected destinations in Europe and Asia for just $5 extra per day, which i think that's a great deal. :)

i pay € 20 per month for unlimited calls within germany and 500 MB of data, additional for outgoing text messages € 0,09. Incomming calls and messages are always free. when i cross a border, i pay €0,09 per minute, but i think from next year on, roaming charges are illegal in the eu.

I live in Pennsylvania, USA. My partner & I have a Galaxy S4 and a regular cell phone. We have AT&T & pay about $140/mo for both.

We live in the country (= a rural area); we tried two other providers in the past, including Verizon, but we could not get a signal from either one. There are cell phone towers in our area, but we live in a valley, and the signals didn't reach us.

With AT&T we get anywhere from 1-3 bars and sometimes have to go outside for a clear signal on a day with thick clouds, but at least we do get service.

When we signed up for AT&T we were told that Verizon has a wider range, but AT&T has a deeper range, and that's why we can get AT&T's signal where we live.

I've been a member of Sprint for some time now although my work cell is AT&T. The service is pretty shitty with Sprint but I just can't seem to let it go.

Verizon. In Los Angeles. Ironically, the only time I have a dropped call is when I call Verizon. Go figure!
