Just when you think TV cannot get more banal they do it again.Dozens of cooking shows when half of the viewers at least can't or won't cook.
Now comes a show on Sewing of all things. And I used to think Cricket was boring.
Thank goodness for recorded stuff.Am I offending any budding dressmakers out there?

Before Survivors there were written shows with plots quite much on TV. But since making reality shows is cheap and people are too lazy to get out from TV even though they show crap, so ass long as money comes in. Personally watch TV only few times a week and only some few shows I really like.

This seems to me to be a golden age of tv. Among the piles of crap are some really great shows.
Game of Thrones has just started it's new season. It might not be your taste, but it's tv at a very high level.

I haven't watched TV for about twenty years now. This is not an exaggeration-I just never run across anything on TV that catches my attention. I turn it on only when we are having weather "events" to see what's closed or predicted. I use the TV to play DVDs which I don't see as watching television. When I was a child (and TV was new), we were severely rationed as to how much time we could spend watching and how close we could be to that "radioactive" box. There was a chalk line across the floor which had to be observed except when turning the set on and off (only one channel available). This was in the 1950's. Quite different now.

When I was twelve, we moved to Southern Oregon. There was no TV for two years until they finally built a station and transmitter. We were the first on our block to have a TV, but because there was really to use for one!

Yes, Spartacus is hot. Arrow is hot.
Neither one is drama for the ages, but they sure are fun. Both have a Titan gay porn vibe, without the fucking. (A bit of gay fucking in Spartacus, but just a tease.)

Another great show (American cable) is Homeland. CIA antiterrorist thriller, with amazing acting and writing.

And True Blood's starting up soon. Jake: you should check out the guy who plays Jason Stackhouse. Might be perfect to play Alex in your biopic. He's Australian; he's blond; he's hot as fuck; he can really act!

How many hours does it take in a week to get threw all of those? But seriously, it's relaxing to watch TV sometimes. I'm just so picky with my shows that I only follow few of the best (from my opinnion, ofc;)) series. Rarely there comes good movies too:thumbs up:

I am mainly back to radio. Especially during the night, when the stations do not have any need to score, you can listen to amazing programs filled with sensible topics.
BTW I do like cooking, but as an active participant, not as a spectator.

From your list those are the shows I would watch... particularly loved Boardwalk Empire, Misfits and of course the blood thirsty series Spartacus (not even for the dudes - which many are hot, it is really for the splashing blood scenes :)) ) I believe I should go meet with a psychiatrist I have the complex of God; I love scenes of splashing blood :))

They are on a rotating schedule so only about 25% are on each week...

For instance, "The Walking Dead" just ended this season. In a few weeks "Hell on Wheels" will replace it in it's time slot. And when that ends "Breaking bad" will air..

At the moment, all of these shows are on hiatus...

Haven
Warehouse 13
White Collar
Burn Notice
Sons of Anarchy
Breaking Bad
The Walking Dead
Hell On Wheels
Teen Wolf
True Blood
Boardwalk Empire
Top Gear UK
Misfits
Ripper Street
Sherlock

Also, I download them all and watch them at my convenience and with the commercials removed which saves a lot of time...
