First significant snow storm in Boston this weekend.
The good news: I've finally put my shovel down. I'm 60 and fit, but my hands and the cold are bad companions.
I thought I put my shovel down a few years ago. I rented one of my rental units to my lifelong "friend" and his sister. They asked for my other garage space in exchange for shoveling. (It's city living, and parking is a real perk).
For four years, it was lots of parking and not much shoveling. I ended the arrangement last spring. At least I thought I did. After $$$ in lawyer's fees and a court session, I now have my space back. My former friends are still in my first floor unit, but the judge did give them a move by date.
My second floor tenants are a nice, young, fit couple. I'm pretty sure they know one end of a shovel from the other. They now have the garage space, and I'm confident (or at least hopeful) that they will fulfill their side of the bargain.
