The first thing I would do is charter a private jet out of the country before anyone finds out about it.
I have an aunt that's a financial advisor, so while I'm in hiding I'd have her set up my investments, taxes, etc. and figure out just how much of it I can use as "Mad Money" and still have enough left over to maintain my new lifestyle.
Also I've had my eye on several pieces of property, one which I have lusted after has just come on the market. A 4 bed, 3 bath historical home on 1.6 acres, in the downtown historical district. It includes a 3 car garage, an indoor pool and an in-ground pool outside, with a backdrop of dense woods. Plus the house next door is also available (for my mother) and an additional 2 acre lot that adjoins it. I need this extra lot to build the garage for my car collection, lol. But all together this would give me a secluded mini-estate right in the heart of downtown.
If all this sounds excessive, I remind you that real estate here is dirt cheap, I can buy both of these houses together for under $650,000.00, and that wouldn't even put a dent in my winnings.
The problem with most lottery winners is they go overboard, move to big cities, buy homes in exclusive gated communities. They spend all their money with out planning on how to maintain their new lifestyle...
