HOTEL MUMBAI

A gripping true story of humanity and heroism, HOTEL MUMBAI vividly recounts the 2008 siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai, India. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Anupam Kher) and a waiter (Academy Award-Nominee Dev Patel, Slumdog Millionaire) who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests. As the world watches on, a desperate couple (Armie Hammer, Call Me By Your Name and Nazanin Boniadi, "Homeland") is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child. (from IMdB)

For us one of the very, very best films of the year. If you will have a feeling heart in your breast - it will hard for you to sleep. Generally I'm not interested in the final credits but here I was very silent in my seat until the last name and the last sound of the music faded down.

Very often I've said on this place: Very Recommended! Here you must have strong nerves - and if you have them, than this film is VERY RECOMMENDED! This film and his cruel story will reverberate for a very long time.

24 Hours to live

Ok so no trailer - Now that might be because most include cast members under 18 yrs old... or it might be because this total pile of POOH doesn't warrant one. OK many people diss movies with Etan Hawke and I can understand that BUT that means you would give a swerve to Predestination - which is a really good movie IMHO. This pile of shite's plot is terrible - I mean if you had a sd memory card exposing mass killings and appalling corruption you would copy it and e.mail it to BBC; New York Times etc .. not decide to personally had it the UN office meaning travelling a long distance whilst being chased and shot at by the bad guys as in this crappy film. Avoid Avoid Avoid

"Spirited Away". Really charming Japanese animation, directed by Miyazaki.

Open Grave (2013), The Crazies (2010) - both good horror movies with a similar topic.

Then tried Zombie Wars (2007) - I managed to watch this thing entirely. Don't know, why I always look such terrible movies (I don't mean the action of the movies)...

Anything to do with zombies (horror or comedy) I automatically skip now, ever since World War Z i think. Just every movie seems to be the same.

As I am planning to watch The Death Cure this evening (and finally find out what happens) I thought I'd better have a catch up on The Scorch Trials

Dissapointed! I mean I enjoyed the Maze Runner and Scorch Trials but I found several of the plot points in this one just toooo damn convenient. Maybe it follows the novel closely, maybe not, I haven't read them so cannot say BUT

a) When they attack the train and detonate the coupling the freed section rolls on gradually slowing and then stops right next to where Newt is waiting --- really???

b) The plane that's called to defend the train follows the truck (it doesn't stay to protect the train) not hitting it once with all the shells/rockets it fires and then the truck makes it to the dead end and the plane lands and the soldiers fall into the deep traps the gladers have dug and they steal the plane and use it to lift one of the railway carriages..... so they planned it all to happen that way? really???

c) when thomas first enters the area outside the city walls WKD knows he's there because they have been scanning the signal from the chip in his neck and are watching him on screens but a few minutes later they sending out search parties to find them...

and when they break out using the minibus even though it has to twist and turn through the city streets to evade capture it still manages to stop just where the crane is ready to lift it up.....

and even more annoying is the fact that - just like in the Maze Runner and Scorch Trials when Thomas was taken/captured by various factions not once did anyone order a strip search... not once !!!

THE SHINY SHRIMPS a wonderful French film, which you will find here in the film section from MrStrange.
The story is told a hundred and thousand times before - but it is a FRENCH film. And French comedies are not only dumb knee-slappers. They are showing you the "joie-de-vivre" of the French people. So this film too is slightly, elated, full of soulfulness - and grief! All of you who like good films - here you have a chance to watch a VERY good film. Alone or with your partner you will have a wonderful movie evening!
