18 year old Andrej is sent to a youth detention centre following concerns by his parents and the courts following a string of delinquent crimes...
Interview with the director
Q: The film contains numerous references to and observations about Slovenian society and the national mentality. Is this something you are particularly interested in?
Darko Štante: Yes; I think filmmakers and artists in general should be aware of the social environment they are living in. Personally, I simply have to observe it and reflect on it. I’m very interested in the mentality of Slovenian society. We are a small Central European country influenced by all of its neighbours, but sometimes I have the feeling that it is only absorbing the worst of those influences.
To anyone who has seen any prison / reform school film, there is nothing really new about this except a) it is set in Slovenia and b) there is no shower-based male rape scene.
Anyway, the plot is good, the acting very good; so my advice for you is to see this film.
I really would like to see this film ...... but very shameful I must admit that the knowledge of my Slovenian language (speaking as well as understanding) is 0 - or better -0. :worried:
I've tried to find subtitles in a language I'll understand ---- but nothing! So another good movie will passing by! ~X(
