Becoming Led Zeppelin 2026
You dont need to be a fan of heavy rock to enjoy this doc about four talented lads whose group became bigger than God during the nineteen seventies.
Amazing that three out of the four are still alive after that time of greater overindulgence than had ever been seen before.
John Bonham, RIP, will never be surpassed as the greatest rock drummer, to play any better is not humanly possible.

CHAOS (2005)

Two cops, a rookie and a grizzled vet, pursue an accomplished bank robber. Imdb

Feeling tired I wanted something that wasn't too mind-taxing and this dumb cop v. bank robber caper fitted the bill. It's one of several Jason Statham movies available in the UK on free movie streaming platforms. Ryan Phillipe plays the rookie. Wesley Snipes is in it too but look on the brightside, Sean Bean isn't in it.

THE ALTO KNIGHTS (2025)

Two of New York City's most notorious organized crime bosses vie for control of the city's streets. Once best friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals set them on a deadly collision course. Imdb

Robert De Niro plays both Frank & Vito, the feuding mob bosses. I hope he enjoyed this Barry Levenson movie - 'cos I thought the use of a voice over (De Niro again) and black and white newsreel footage made this drag even more. In summary - bored

BRING THEM DOWN (2024)

An Irish shepherding family thrust into battle on several fronts: internal strife, hostility within the family, rivalry with another farmer. Paternalism, heritage, and the generational trauma cycle through the cultural prism of Ireland.

Following Sundays movie about feuding mobsters I went for feuding sheep farmers. I grabbed this as it stars Barry Keoghan but even he can't save it. It's slow, dark, depressing and violent and covers animal mutilation too. Percussive soundtrack. Some short sections were in Gaelic and my copy had no subtitles but I could still follow the plot. More confusing was the skipping back and forth timewise. I looked at some reviews since watching it and one said it might appeal to people who thought The Banshees of Inisherin was too cheerful.
