Late to the game, and very absent from these boards of late... but, catching up on all things Arrow and Flash. It has been interesting. For the most part I have abandoned watching first run broadcasts of television series. Just no fun having to wait 6 days to follow a plot. No matter how interesting.
Thankfully, these shows have a few seasons under the belt and I'm following along by taking in 3 or 4 episodes at a pop. Makes for a more enjoyable viewing. -As for the shows themselves... Flash feels like the comic book source it comes from. I half expect 25 cents to appear somewhere in the corner of a screen. Arrow as a bigger surprise as I had heard the show was "dark", which for me is the kiss of death for anything comic book related. Heroes are not 'dark'. Villains are dark. Anyway, the heroic manages to survive in this mess that is sometimes goofy and other times brilliant. And for that alone I give the show a thumbs up. There are days though when I wish this were the Green Hornet instead of Arrow. They wouldn't have to change much. The mask could stay the same. Add the Black Beauty... and someone to play Kato. Done and done. It would be like candy.
